Safety at road crossings

Petra Energia/Blog/Tips/Safety at road crossings

The end of summer vacation and the beginning of the school year is a time to create new or refresh old habits, including those related to safety.

On a daily basis, we are engaged in illuminating pedestrian crossings with solar lamps designed and installed by us. Our products comply with European standards. Our goal is to increase the safety of pedestrians.

However, technical parameters do not matter if road users do not follow the rules, which we would like to remind you below.

  1. Cross the street in designated areas.
  2. When crossing the street, walk with a firm step, do not slow down or stop
  3. 3.Don’t run across the street. Don’t run in and then slow down.
  4. Drive a bicycle or scooter through a crosswalk. You should not drive these vehicles into the crosswalk if there is no designated space for crossing.
  5. When crossing the street, be focused, attentive and considerate. Use the principle of limited trust.
  6. Don’t use a cell phone or headphones – turn on all your senses when crossing the road.
  7. Reflective elements on your clothing or bag and backpack increase your visibility, especially in autumn and winter or when darkness falls early.
  8. Before crossing pedestrians, pay attention to vehicles in all lanes. Especially watch out for cars that want to avoid the vehicle that is passing you.
  9. A railroad crossing is a place where a rail vehicle has priority over other vehicles but also over cyclists and pedestrians. Stop. Wait for the train or streetcar to pass.

We wish you a safe end to the vacations and the coming autumn!
